location ; Kept on him at all times, usually in an inside pocket or tucked inside his armour.
condition ; It has definitely seen better days, but it's not falling apart just yet - it's quite bent thanks to being pressed against his body most of the time.
appearance ; Black, with his family's sigil - a wolf with the antlers of a stag - embossed on its front cover. It's quite small, but Damon doesn't use it all that much in it thanks to his own difficulties with writing.
availability ; 100% private - it's debatable whether anyone else even knows he has a journal at all.
